5.9 Organizational Conduct Outcomes

Conduct outcomes may include one or more of the following, as deemed appropriate by the Conduct Officer

a. Warning. A formal written notice to the organization indicating that its behavior violated university policy. This sanction serves as a reminder of expectations and a caution that further violations may result in more serious consequences.

b. Probation. A designated period during which the organization is closely monitored. Any additional violations during this time may result in more severe sanctions. The group may be required to meet regularly with a university advisor and submit progress reports.

c. Community Service. The organization is required to complete a set number of service hours benefiting the campus or local community. This could involve organizing a campus clean-up, volunteering at a nonprofit, or hosting an educational event.

d. Fine. A monetary penalty assessed to the organization, with funds directed toward university-sponsored educational initiatives (e.g., alcohol awareness, diversity training, leadership development). The organization may be asked to help promote or attend these programs.

e. Restitution. The organization must compensate for any damages or losses caused by its actions. This could include paying for property repairs, replacing stolen items, or reimbursing affected individuals or departments.

f. Restriction of Access to Facilities, Space, Resources, or Activities. The organization temporarily loses access to certain campus privileges, such as reserving rooms, hosting events, using university vehicles, or accessing funding. Restrictions are tailored to the nature of the violation.

g. Suspension of Activities. The organization is prohibited from operating or participating in any university-recognized activities for a specified period. This includes meetings, events, recruitment, and use of university branding or resources.

h. Termination of Status/Removal of Recognition. The organization loses official recognition from the university. It may no longer operate on campus, receive funding, or participate in university events. Reinstatement, if allowed, would require a formal reapplication process and demonstration of corrective action.
